Absolute Power also distinguishes itself from the clutter of local metal bands by not shying away from melody. Although the group is rooted to its genre by the standard jub-jub metal riffs and guitar solos, the vocals mercifully avoid noteless, dry-heavish screaming and often incorporate the harmonies of bassist/backup vocalist Jason Alley. Perhaps it is this display of legitimate ability that separates Southern metal from other metal subgenres.
