Charles "Chaz" Amos Davenport IV, a superstitious son of undertakers, finds himself homeless and alone one day. Not knowing what to do Chaz packs a bag and heads out, by foot, on the open road. He doesn't get far before he makes friends with a group of outlaw hobos and gypsies. Chaz helps the group earn money for liquor and leftovers by organizing their talents into a show. Together they try to make a living by singin', dancin', trampin' and boozin'.

"I saw 'em tonight. A revelation. I had no idea we had something like this here... I was stone cold sober and still loved it. That's saying a lot 'cause not drinking usually makes me really grumpy." -Jack Rentfro
