Abandoning the instruments used in the members' previous high-school outfits, the roster decided to ensure freshness by rotating instruments until no member of the lineup (save drummer Jacob Ducote) was left playing an instrument he had experience with. The result is a sound not even the band could have expected. Vocalist Sean McDougle implements heavy vibrato in a vocal style comparable to that of young British phenoms Bombay Bicycle Club.
