FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Title: Public invited to murder at West High School
The West High Players will present “A Murder is Announced,” a play by Agatha Christie on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 pm, Saturday Nov. 14, at 7 pm, and Sunday Nov. 15, at 3 pm. The Sunday afternoon performance will be accompanied by afternoon tea and scones, offered at a modest additional cost during the intermission.
Directed by West High drama director Jeffrey Ballaro, with set design by Jimm Conn, the play tells the story of the puzzling events following the announcement of a murder in an English country village and the murder of an unexpected and unknown stranger in the house of Miss Blacklock, a respectable old lady. The play is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, and more death. The play stars Amanda Swanson as Miss Blacklock, Lee Ann McGeorge as the indomitable Miss Marple, Tyler Russell as the determined police inspector Craddock, and Marlee Simmons as Miss Blacklock’s sweet old school friend, with a talented cast of supporting young actors.
West High School is located at 3300 Sutherland Avenue in Knoxville. Ticket prices are $8 for the general public, $6 per person for groups of 10 or more, and $5 for West High students and children 12 or under.
A cake drawing (Death by Chocolate, naturally) will be held at the Saturday night performance.
