Johnny Knoxville has nabbed a lead role in the indie feature "Hating Her."
Knoxville joins Selma Blair, Blythe Danner, Logan Marshall-Green, Bridget Moynahan, Donald Sutherland and Maura Tierney in the project, due to begin production this month in Los Angeles.
The $10 million-budgeted "Hating" follows Stone family members as they unite in a common cause after the favorite son ( Knoxville ) arrives home for the holidays with his uptight girlfriend (Moynahan).
Overwhelmed by the hostile reception from the family, Moynahan's character begs her sister (Blair) to join her and lend emotional support, only to trigger more complications.
Knoxville , the alias for South Knoxville native PJ Clapp, is currently in Europe promoting "jackass: the movie," which is opening abroad.
That movie, based on Knoxville's popular MTV series, made more than $70 million in the United States since its release last fall.
In recent weeks, Knoxville completed the indie film "Grand Theft Parsons," a dark comedy in which he plays the manager of the late singer Graham Parsons.
