The Oak Ridge Playhouse will present a stage version of the classic 1967 Mike Nichols film "The Graduate," with shows running Friday, Aug. 21-Sunday, Sept. 6.

The bittersweet comedy plot involves Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate who lacks direction in his life, and falls for Mrs. Robinson, the alcoholic wife of his father's best friend. Things become even more complicated when Ben meets Mrs. Robinson's daughter Elaine and falls in love with her.

Cast members for the production include Nick Carter as Benjamin, Chevy Anz as Mrs. Robinson and Tyra Tucker Haag as Elaine. Other cast members are Bill Howard, Joseph Jaynes, Gayle Greene, John Pacitti, Harrison Young and Bonnie Corrine Lotesto. The play is directed Reggie Law, managing artistic director for the Oak Ridge Playhouse.

Performance dates are 8 p.m. Aug. 21 and 22, Aug. 27-29, and Sept. 4 and 5; matinee shows begin at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6. The opening-night performance on Aug. 21 will feature a champagne reception with the cast and crew for an extra $5.

Tickets range from $15 to $20. To purchase tickets or for more info, call 865-482-9999 or visit Web site www.orplayhouse.com.

Due to the adult nature and content of the show, "The Graduate" is recommended for mature audiences.
