Dolly Parton surprises young ladies during a celebration for Girl Scouts from the Tanasi Council at the Pines Theatre in Dollywood. About 400 girls earned the "Coat of Many Colors" badge based on Parton's philosophy and song by the same name. Parton sang her famous song and awarded the girls their badges before posing for group photos.

This and that from an entertainment reporter's notebook:
n Winner. Gatlinburg fan Sabrina Taylor and her buddies collected $75,000 among themselves and won the bidding for a party with Dolly Parton. Taylor and a friend also get to spend the night at a guest cottage next to the mountain home.
The item was up for bids at the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation's annual Evening of Elegance on Saturday night. Parton, who is the foundation's honorary chairperson, donated a stay at her Tennessee Mountain Home in Sevier County and a party in which she would attend.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward health-care programs in Parton's native Sevier County. Taylor can invite an additional 10 guests for a private tour of Parton's residence followed by a barbecue on the grounds with bluegrass entertainment, all hosted by Parton.
Taylor and a guest will spend the night in Parton's guest cottage, located next door to the Tennessee Mountain Home. The next morning, Parton will prepare and serve a country-style breakfast to Taylor and her guest.
n Emmy nominee. Knoxville's Brad Barber, a 1995 graduate of Farragut High School, has been nominated for an Emmy in the category of editing for the documentary "Resolved," which aired on HBO.
Nominations were announced in July 2009, and the Emmys take place on Sept. 20-21 in New York City at the Lincoln Center.
Barber teaches at Brigham Young University and has made many films himself, including "Yard Sale," a Slamdance Film Festival winner in 2005.
n Returning? When Knoxville native Ben Wade (aka the Dragon Slayer) from the recently completed "Survivor: Tocantins" was asked whether he'd be part of such a reunion of sinners, he went with the old tried-and-true response: "No comment." Oh, he wants to do it, I'm sure. Whether he'll be asked? Well, that's a different matter.
And what about Knoxville native Tina Wesson, who, in long-ago days, won "Survivor: The Australian Outback" (kids, go ask your grandparents about that one ...)?
She didn't fare so well on the last "All-Stars" edition. She was voted out first. Her pride may not allow her to go back for a third try at the game.
