Notes and quotes from an entertainment notebook:

'Sun' sets. An independent film shot in Knoxville and the surrounding area this past summer will be seen by audiences for the first time at the prestigious South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, next month.

"That Evening Sun" - originally titled "I Hate To See That Evening Sun Go Down" - stars Hal Holbrook. Knoxville-based DoubleJay Creative produced the film.

"We are thrilled with this honor and delighted that the world premiere of 'That Evening Sun' will be held at one of the finest independent film festivals in the world," DoubleJay Creative founder and president Larsen Jay was quoted as saying in an announcement.

"Obviously, this is terrific news for our company, but it's also cause for celebration throughout our community because it is further validation of the viability of the filmmaking industry in Tennessee."

Writer-director Scott Teems wrote the story, which was based on a short story by Tennessee author William Gay.

The story follows Abner Meecham (Holbrook), who leaves a nursing facility in which his son convinced him to live. Abner goes back to his Tennessee farm, only to discover his son has leased the farm to an old foe. Walton Goggins ("The Shield") and Dixie Carter also star in the film.

Viewing at a major film festival such as South by Southwest could help generate buzz for "Sun" and help it secure a major distributor, allowing for a wider audience to see it.

Executive producer Raul Celaya calls entry into the festival a "significant milestone."

Dolly doin'. Calling attention to the 75th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dolly Parton will be a guest on CNN's "Larry King Live" Tuesday.

Earlier that day, Parton will perform at the "Tennessee Sampler," an exclusive VIP event hosted by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. The event will be at held at National Harbor, Md.

Parton serves as ambassador for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

She has also written music for a new stage production that pays tribute to the national park. The show, titled "Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of Blue Smoke," will premiere at Dollywood in the spring.

Another trip to the 'Kitchen.' Peerless chef Carol Scott is back on Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" for a second round of competition (9 tonight, WTNZ, Channel 43). The restaurant hosted a viewing party with Scott this past Thursday.

This Thursday, Peerless will throw another party. Festivities begin at 9 p.m.
