SAMMY BLUE

The Sammy Blue Band will entertain during Alive After Five 5:30- 8 p.m. at the Knoxville Museum of Art, 1050 World's Fair Park Drive. Sammy Blue, left, is known as "The Crown Prince of the Blues." His sound encompasses blues styles from multiple regions, including East Coast, Delta, Texas and Chicago. Admission is $9 in general, $5 for museum members and students. THROUGH THE 'LABYRINTH' TO FIND 'THE DARK CRYSTAL'

The Muppet-laden fantasy films "Labyrinth" and "The Dark Crystal" will be shown in a double-feature at 9 p.m. at the Bijou Theatre, 803 S. Gay St.

"Labyrinth," directed by Muppet master Jim Henson, stars Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. "The Dark Crystal," was co-directed by Henson and Frank Oz, chronicles the adventures of a alien race called Gelflings as they try to save their world.

Admission is $5.

This is Matgo Primo's first performance in a while. The group released the CD "None, Never" in 2008.

'THE STING'

Small-time grifter Johnny (Robert Redford) enlists the aid of a fellow con artist (Paul Newman) to even the score with a powerful crime boss (Robert Shaw) in "The Sting."

The classic caper flick will be shown at 2 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre, 604 S. Gay St.

The PG-rated film earned seven Oscars at the 1974 Academy Awards, including Best Director for George Roy Hill and Best Music for Marvin Hamlisch.

Admission is $6-$8.

'MIDSUMMER' MARYVILLE

The Tennessee Stage Company will present Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at 6:30 p.m. on the front lawn at the Blount County Public Library, 508 N. Cusick St., Maryville.

Admission is free. Because the performance will be outdoors, the audience should bring lawn chairs. The company is also performing the play, alternating with "Hamlet," Thursdays-Sundays through Aug. 16 at Market Square.

'JAMMIN' FOR JOY'
