I'm up early this Friday Bonnaroo morning and am pretty much recovered from the rain and thunderstorms from Thursday.
Once we waited out the rain in our tent, with a packed cooler full of chilled beverages, it was time to party.
The skies clear to beautiful sunshine and the Bonnaroo heat I know and love.
Troo Music Lounge was the place to be on Thursday afternoon and I started with Julie Nunes, a musician who has achieved YouTube fame for her cover songs. She was very entertaining and had a large Knoxville crowd watching, including Ashley Capps (AC Entertainment, Bonnaroo founder) and members of The Black Lillies, who played after Nunes.
My phone died in the late afternoon. I've since learned that there are new cell phone charging stations this year. This is good to know since I had so much fun taking Twitpics that I killed the battery quicker than ever before. If you haven't already, follow me on Twitter @bonnaroonews!
At 11 a.m. this morning, I'm meeting fellow Bonnaroo tweeters by the fountain for our first Tweet-up. I don't know how many people will show up, but I'm looking forward to our meet-and-greet.
It's a great day of music and I'm especially excited for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. And everyone at Bonnaroo is stressing over what to do between 6 – 8:30 p.m., when Al Green, TV on the Radio, Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco and Amadou & Mariam play at the same time. Beastie Boys and Phish also play tonight.
