Lucas Richman will again lead the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra at a free outdoor concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4.

The Fourth of July in Knoxville again brings the Knoxville Symphony's traditional concert featuring patriotic music.

The symphony conducted by Lucas Richman performs the 25th annual Pilot Free Independence Day Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4. The concert will be on the south lawn of World's Fair Park and includes both patriotic music and some classical favorites.

The concert music includes "The Star Spangled Banner," John Williams' "Overture to the Cowboys," selections from "The Sound of Music," the "Salute to the Armed Forces" and Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture."

Symphony principal tubist Sande MacMorran will guest conductor for Aaron Copland's "Hoedown" from the ballet "Rodeo."

MacMorran conducted the first free Independence Day concert 25 years ago.

This year's concert ends with John Philip Sousa's rousing "Stars and Stripes Forever" and the festival's ending 20-minute fireworks. The symphony is part of Knoxville's annual Festival on the Fourth celebration.
