Recently reunited Phish will be giving away downloads of the band’s first concerts after the band’s four-year hiatus. The group will offer free downloads of sold-out concerts at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va., on March 6-8 at http://www.livephish.com. The recordings will be professionally mixed and available as 256kbps MP3 files. The recordings will only be available free online for a limited time. Fans may also purchase CD-quality FLAC downloads for $12.95 per show or custom 3-CD sets for $23.00. Fans can register now at http://www.livephish.com to receive an email when the free MP3s are available.
The recordings are expected to be available online 24 hours after the end of the concerts.
Phish will perform at Thompson-Boling arena on June 10. That show is sold out. The group will also perform for two nights at the 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn., later that week.
“The Clifford Ball,” a seven-DVD box set capturing the band’s entire performance at this landmark 1996 festival, was released yesterday by JEMP Records/Rhino.
