International acrobats, Smokies tribute highlight Dollywood schedule

Dollywood will open for its 24th season on Saturday, with a full slate of new stage productions to entice visitors.

Festival of Nations. (March 28 to April 27). Dozens of international performers will present music, food and crafts around the theme park. The centerpiece is the new "Le Grand Cirque's Imagine," an aerial acrobatics production.

Sha-Kon-O-Hey. (premiering May 9). Dolly Parton wrote the music for this new stage production that pays tribute to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on its 75th anniversary.

Kids Fest. (June 12 to Aug. 2). "Journey to the Center of the Earth 4-D" is a new simulation ride based on the hit movie. Brendan Fraser stars as Professor Trevor Anderson; "Creature Adventures" will feature popular PBS kids performers the Kratt Brothers.
