Dolly Parton said she'll be performing a tune from her Broadway show "9 to 5" on next month's Tony Awards.

This marks Parton's first time at the Tonys. Though it has only recently opened on Broadway, "9 to 5" received four Tony nominations, including one for Best Original Score (which she wrote).

The Tonys will air at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 7, on CBS.

Parton's nomination cements her status as a bona fide superstar. She's one of the few artists in history to garner a nomination in each of the four big award shows in entertainment: the Academy Awards, Grammys, Emmys and, now, the Tonys.

Parton told me she was up early on the day of the nominations and had the TV on when the news broke. She was so thrilled she started waking up everyone to tell them.

"I couldn't believe it," she said of the news.

Parton spent the past four weeks in New York City working 12-hour days while "9 to 5" prepped for its official opening. The opening night brought out a bevy of stars including "Today Show" personalities Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.

NEW SEASON. Knoxville-based cable channel HGTV's popular "Design Star" will return for a fourth season on July 19.

The competition features aspiring designers trying to impress an expert judging panel and home viewers with their personalities and design expertise. During the series, the designers will compete in challenges to earn favor.

The winner gets his or her own show on HGTV.

This year's judges panel include HGTV personalities and designers Genevieve Gorder and Candice Olson with returning judge Vern Yip.

HGTV's "$250,000 Challenge," which debuts 10 p.m. May 31, has five neighboring families in a winner-take-all design competition in which one family will win a grand prize that can be used toward paying down their mortgage.

Host Drew Lachey will reveal a home improvement challenge based on a popular HGTV series. With help from the network's expert talent, each family will strive not only to win the favor of design judges Kristan Cunningham and John Gidding, but also to walk away with up to four redesigned spaces in their home and $250,000.

Each episode will feature one of the channel's popular experts who will judge and mentor, including Gorder, Kim Myles, David Bromstad and Carter Oosterhouse.
