'UP,' UP AND AWAY
Retiree Carl Fredricksen (voice of Ed Asner) decides to fulfill his lifelong dream of visiting South America by tying hundreds of helium balloons to his house and lifting off. He is joined on the journey by a young scout named Russell (voice of Jordan Nagai), who accidentally stows away.
The pair encounter a variety of new friends, plus some enemies. The animated adventure is rated PG.
'DRAG ME TO HELL'
Loan officer Christine (Allison Lohman, left) is reluctantly forced to evict an elderly lady (Lorna Raver), who promptly curses the bank employee with nasty supernatural scary things in the new horror film "Drag Me to Hell," opening May 29 in area theaters. The thriller is written and directed by Sam Raimi ("Evil Dead," "Spider-Man") and also stars Justin Long (the "I'm a Mac" guy of commercial fame). The movie is rated PG-13.
