Two arrested after police chase near downtown Knoxville

KNOXVILLE — Knoxville police arrested two men — one of them wanted on a slew of felony charges — after a car chase today that careened from South Knoxville, across the Henley Bridge and into the Fort Sanders neighborhood.

Lt. Dusty Lane of the Knoxville Police Department said officers attempted to stop a stolen Chevrolet Suburban around noon on Sevier Avenue. A woman jumped out of the Suburban, Lane said, and another occupant slid into the driver’s seat.

The driver sped off past Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee, struck a vehicle on Henley Street, crossed the Henley Bridge, turned down Cumberland Avenue and struck another vehicle on 18th Street, Lane said. Police stopped chasing the vehicle but found it abandoned in an alley near Highland Avenue and 22nd Street.

Officers combing the area spotted two suspects running down a street and arrested them, Lane said.

Gregory Duff, 21, was charged with theft, Lane said. Lane said Duff already was wanted on kidnapping, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, domestic assault, narcotics and numerous traffic charges. Victor Parsons, no age given, was charged with theft and marijuana possession, Lane said.

Lane said no one was injured.

More details as they develop online and in Monday’s News Sentinel.

well Mr. Duff how many times have you ran from us? How many times have we caught you? Sounds like to me you need to find a new line of work. Being a thug just don't seem to be working out for you. Always remember, You cannot outrun Motorola

lawman, I would not be to happy because apparently the justice system is broken if you have to keep repeating this.

Yeah you know you're right about the justice system. All we have to do is catch them it is up to a higher power than me to prosecute this thug. The thrill is in the chase.
