Kenny Chesney news
Kenny Chesney is finally making a movie.
The East Tennessee superstar will star in a concert film called, naturally, “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D.” It will have a limited run in theaters starting in April 2010.
The footage was obtained from five cities during his Sun City Carnival tour in 2008 (that did not make a stop in Knoxville).
Concert films have been hot in the last couple of years. Miley Cyrus’ “Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds” tour was a hit in theaters. And recently, Michael Jackson’s documentary-performance movie “This Is It” has made a huge splash.
Chesney, 41, is a native of Luttrell and lived in East Tennessee through his college years.
Performance. OMG, Miley Cyrus! Hannah Montana’s best gal pal Emily Osment, who’s 17, will perform at Knoxville’s Square Room on Monday night.
Emily plays Hannah’s best friend, Lilly Truscott, on the hit Disney Channel series. But besides “Hannah Montana,” Emily is also a singer.
She collaborated on her upcoming album with Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s and Eve 6’s Max Collins and Tony Fagenson. “All the Way Up,” the first single, has been a hit on Disney Radio.
Tickets are $10, and the doors open at 6 p.m.
Looking for love. LaFollette resident Ella Nolan is among the 25 single ladies vying for the attention (and love) of Jake Pavelka, when the new season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” premieres Jan. 4.
Nolan is a divorcee with a son (according to my source, she’s the show’s token “single mom” for Pavelka to consider).
She’s 27 years old and is a student at Tennessee School of Beauty. Nolan is currently looking for a job. She was gone for about a month filming the show.
Nolan got help from local businesses to prepare for the show. Alumni Hall Stores gave her University of Tennessee apparel; Jewelry Television came up with a complete jewelry wardrobe.
Medi-Spa at Knoxville Dermatology Group supplied Botox and Juvederm. Jamye Shaw Designs came forward with custom swimwear.
Dr. Joe Griffin, DDS, gave her a teeth whitening; Heather Nolan Carr, stylist at Salon Elizabeth, helped with her hair.
Pavelka, a commercial pilot from Dallas, was a reject on last season’s “The Bachelorette” with Jillian Harris.
His edition will be titled “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.”
Nolan isn’t the only East Tennessee resident geared up for a reality show in 2010. Ashley Johnston of Knoxville is now shooting the next edition of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” to premiere in early 2010.
Movie career. And let’s end this party with more news about another local in movies. Former University of Tennessee head football coach Phillip Fulmer does, indeed, make an appearance in the new Sandra Bullock movie, “The Blind Side.” Fulmer was also mentioned in the book on which the film is based.
The movie is out Nov. 20.
Terry Morrow may be reached at morrowt@knoxville.com or 865-342-6445. His blog can be found at http://blogs.knoxnews.com/knx/telebuddy/. He contributes to “Live At Five At Four” on WBIR, Channel 10, and “The Marc & Kim & Frank Show” on WWST-FM, 102.1.
Kenny Chesney will make his movie debut in “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D,” coming in April.
