Morrow: 'Smallville' star heads local show

Actor John Schneider, the former star of "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Smallville," will appear at the celebrity autograph show Adventure Con, set for Oct. 24-25 at the Grand Hotel in Pigeon Forge.

Other guests announced so far include Jason Mewes (of "Jay and Silent Bob"), Derek Mears (the new Jason in "Friday the 13th"), Micky DoLenz (The Monkees) and Kevin Nash (professional wrestler).

Before he got into professional wrestling, Nash attended the University of Tennessee, where he majored in psychology and minored in educational philosophy. He played a center for the UT basketball team.

He stayed on the team from 1979 to 1980, during which time the team made it to the NCAA Sweet 16. He did not play a fourth year for the Volunteers.

n Big screen. Oak Ridge native Mitch Rouse, who will be a guest at this week's Secret City Film Festival in Oak Ridge, has written a movie that Columbia Pictures is getting behind.

"Supermax," which he co-wrote with Christopher Nelson, is set at a maximum security prison for the supernatural.

When a riot breaks out, a prison guard and one of the ghastly inmates team up to try and survive the chaos. A cast has not been announced yet.

Rouse's other big screen credits include "Employee of the Month" and "Without A Paddle." For television, Rouse starred most recently in "The Factory," a comedy for Spike TV, and "According to Jim" on ABC.

n Horror bookings. Ripley's Haunted Adventure has booked two horror stars for the weekend before Halloween.

Daeg Faerch, who is best know for his portrayal of the young Michael Myers in Rob Zombies' "Halloween," will make an appearance. Also, William Forsythe, whose credits include Zombie's "The Devils Rejects," is also on tap.

Forsythe's other appearances include "Dick Tracy," "The Rock," "Deuce Bigalow" and "Raising Arizona."
