The Knox County Public Library's popular outdoor movie series Movies on Market Square kicks off its sixth season tonight on Market Square. Admission is free and open to the public.
The lineup of six movies was chosen by public vote, and ranges from children's movies to classic cinema to action films. All films are PG-13 or less, but the library encourages parents to read reviews of the films to make sure they are appropriate for individual families.
Movies begin at dusk, around 8 p.m., and will end before 10 p.m. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In the case of inclement weather, rain dates will be scheduled for a later date.
This year's movie lineup includes:
n "Field of Dreams," (PG), tonight
n "The Goonies," (PG), Sept. 18
n "Kung Fu Panda," (PG), Sept. 25
n "Casablanca," (PG), Oct. 2
n "Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit," (G), Oct. 9
n "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," (PG-13), Oct. 16
The library started its annual movie series to highlight its collection of films, music and audiobooks. For more info on the Knox County Public Library, visit www.knoxlib.org.
