East Tennessee resident Ella Nolan from ABC's "The Bachelor" this season has joined the cast of "Dancing with the Knoxville Stars," a benefit for Children's Hospital of East Tennessee. WWST-FM, Star102.1, is organizing the event.

"Dancing" is part of the station's annual radio-thon effort to aid the hospital.

The cast is now complete, and it includes Abby Ham, WBIR, Channel 10; Tearsa Smith, WATE, Channel 6; Allison Kropff, WVLT, Channel 8; Jed Bakri, Cotton Eyed Joe; Lola Alapo, the Knoxville News Sentinel; Leanne Morgan, comedian; and Lucas Richman, maestro of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

The event is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, April 1, at the Knoxville Expo Center.

Last year's show raised more than $30,000 for the hospital. For tickets, go to STAR1021fm.com.

n Casting. Farragut native Ben Garant's potential NBC series "The Strip" is growing.

Cast members announced to join include Natasha Leggero, Cedric Yarbrough and Dave Holmes. Yarbough is a former regular on Garant's other series "Reno 911!" which was canceled late last year.

The pilot for the series, a comedy set at a Hooters-style restaurant, begins in April. NBC will announce a few weeks after that if the series will make it onto the schedule.

On the series, Garant plays a security guard at a strip mall who frequents the restaurant owned by a former child star (Tom Lennon, who co-created the show with Garant).

n Good show. In a complete turnaround from last week, the judges of "American Idol" liked Didi Benami's performance Tuesday night. She played guitar as she covered Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon."

Ellen DeGeneres called it "a lovely performance" while Simon Cowell, the toughest to please, said "it was head and shoulders above anything we have heard tonight." Kara DioGuardi praised it by saying it was one of the best musical moments of the season.

Benami will learn tonight if she advances to the top 12. Benami was raised in Knoxville and graduated from West High School.
