For the first time in years, Dolly Parton will headline a major musical TV special direct from her native East Tennessee.

The special will air later this year for the Hallmark Channel and honor the 25th anniversary of Dollywood.

Shooting of the special will be at Dollywood and probably done sometime in May, around the time of Parton’s annual “homecoming” parade.

Guest stars will include Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus and Kenny Rogers. All three guests are expected to perform.

Details on tickets or if the public can be part of the proceedings have not been announced yet.

Four major outlets — including two of the five network biggies — mulled the idea of the special. Eventually, cable channel Hallmark Channel stepped up to the plate. The idea for the special has been formulating for nearly a year.

Parton hasn’t done a musical/ variety special since the late 1980s, when she was host of her own variety series.

In one episode set around Thanksgiving, Parton brought an ABC film crew to her native Sevierville for a family reunion.

The Cyruses’ involvement in the special comes from a mutual agreement.

One of “Hannah Montana’s” final episodes will feature Parton, who is reprising her role as Miley/ Hannah’s Aunt Dolly.

Miley Cyrus announced recently that “Hannah Montana” is coming to an end in season four, which is in production.

“I’m very proud of her. I think she’s a fabulous artist,” Parton said of Miley.

An air date for the episode has not been announced yet.

n Appearance. Comic Leanne Morgan of West Knoxville discovered Monday her “Dr. Phil” appearance has been moved up by a day.

Morgan will be a guest on the talk show at 3 p.m. today on WBIR, Channel 10. The topic will be a lighthearted look at a new controversial study saying women have a lot of leisure time on their hands.
