A new Ashley Johnston emerged during “The Biggest Loser” tonight.
During “makeover week,” Johnston, a Knoxville resident, and her fellow contestants were transformed. Johnston’s change included a Marylin Monroe-type hairstyle and a snug black top and pants.
“Coming into the ranch, I never imagined I’d be here right now,” Johnston told host Allison Sweeney. “I didn’t think I was strong enough to still be here.
“I didn’t think I had the ability to be here. I know I do now.”
Johnston also set a “Loser” record for female contestants. By losing 138 pounds, she has lost more weight at the ranch than any other woman in the history of the show.
Her road to the weigh-in was tough. During a climbing challenge, she was the first contestant to fall and thus incurred a one-pound penalty. However, Johnston lost 10 pounds this week and avoided falling into the bottom two, where she could have been voted off the show.
Johnston has now advanced to the show’s final five. If she can survive one more week, she’ll be part of the show’s finale.
Sam Poueu and Mike Ventrella were this week's bottom two. The other four players split their votes, two each for both players, and Poueu was eliminated in a tiebreaker because he had lost the least weight of all players this week.
Johnston voted to get rid of Poueu because of an alliance she has formed with Ventrella and Daris George.
