Catch screenings of 'It's a Wonderful Life'

It was nominated for five Academy Awards and ranks No. 20 on the American Film Institute's "100 Greatest Movies of All Time" list.

On Sunday, Dec. 5, catch "It's a Wonderful Life" on the big screen at the Tennessee Theatre downtown, courtesy of Home Federal Bank.

"During a season of hustle and bustle, we're glad to provide an opportunity to gather together in the grandeur of the Tennessee Theatre," said Home Federal Bank President Dale Keasling. "We hope that this event will become a family holiday tradition for years to come."

The film will be shown at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and doors will open one hour prior to each performance. There is no cost, and no ticket is required. Seating is limited to the theatre's capacity of 1,550.

Released in 1947 and starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, "It's a Wonderful Life" is a bittersweet comedy/drama about George Bailey, a compassionate manager of a bank in typical small-town America, and the angel that helps him realize his importance in the world.
