Kata Hay, left, and her band The Grassabillies will entertain as part of the Fall Music Series at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, 123 Cromwell Drive, Townsend.

At age 5, Oklahoma native Hay was the youngest person to win the Ed McMahon-hosted talent show "Star Search." She now entertains with husband Robbie Helton around the East Tennessee region.

Milla Jovovich, left, returns as Alice in "Resident Evil: Afterlife," the latest installment of the zombie-virus-apocalypse series based on the video game "Resident Evil." Ali Larter ("Heroes") returns as Claire, Alice's cohort in zombie butt-kicking. Opening Friday, Sept. 10, the film is rated R and presented in 3-D.

'DOUBT' IN OAK RIDGE

The play "Doubt: A Parable" will be presented through Sept. 26 at the Oak Ridge Playhouse, 227 Broadway, Jackson Square, Oak Ridge. This play by John Patrick Shanley was adapted into a 2007 feature film starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. This production is suitable for mature teens and adult patrons.

'AMADEUS' IN THE AFTERNOON

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and the Clarence Brown Theatre company will present "Amadeus," the tragic story of musical rivals Mozart and Salieri, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Clarence Brown Theatre on the University of Tennessee campus.

Consumed with his envy of Mozart, court composer Salieri sets out to destroy him in this orchestral drama.
