As someone that has moved here from elsewhere and has never heard of Boomsday, Could someone please tell me just what is Boomsday? What is its origin, and why is called Boomsday? Thanks in advance.

Boomsday is a huge fireworks show held annually in Knoxville by the river on Labor Day weekend. It's called "Boomsday" because, well, it's a huge fireworks show.
