Market Square movie series kicks off Friday
The Knox County Public Library's popular outdoor movie series returns to Market Square for the seventh year of free family fun in front of the silver screen.
The series will run for six Friday nights, from Sept. 10 to Oct. 15. The movies begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.).
The "Movies on Market Square" lineup:
Sept. 10 - "Iron Man" (PG-13)
Sept. 17 - "Charlotte's Web" (G)
Sept. 24 - "Cats and Dogs" (PG)
Oct. 1 - "Pretty in Pink" (PG-13)
Oct. 8 - "The Spy Next Door" (PG)
Oct. 15 - Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" (not rated)
Each year, the library puts on "Movies on Market Square" to highlight its vast collection of film and music. Audiovisual items now account for more than half of all circulating items at Lawson McGhee Library. Last year, 422,000 DVDs, CDs and audio books were checked out throughout the county.
