MANCHESTER, Tenn. - Could the Bonnaroo farm become the new home of the Tennessee State Fair?
Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival spokesman Jeff Cuellar told the Manchester Times and Tullahoma News that New Era Farms is interested.
The fair is looking for a new home after spending the last 100 years at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville. That's because Mayor Karl Dean hopes to redevelop the fairgrounds with a $2 million park.
Coffee County Mayor David Pennington said he would support the state fair moving to Manchester, but expressed concern that it might overshadow the county fair.
Despite its name, the Tennessee State Fair is a regional fair with most attendees from Nashville and surrounding counties.
More details as they develop online and in Thursday's News Sentinel.
