GATLINBURG - Don MacPherson, who founded Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre in Gatlinburg 33 years ago, has died. He was 70.
According to The Mountain Press, Sweet Fanny Adams was the first and oldest continuously operating theater in the Smoky Mountain resort town. The venue featured short comedy skits, often involving members of the audience.
MacPherson, his wife and son had starred in the theater's stage shows for years. He was a former city commissioner.
The theater is well-known to tourists who see it on the town's main parkway leading to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Funeral services were pending in Sevierville.

Don was a comic genius. Nothing better than sitting down at SFA theatre and laughing your butt off!!! Don will be missed...I hope the show will go on.
