Ex-Carpe Librum owner plans downtown bookstore

Here's some good news for book lovers.

A former partner in now-shuttered Carpe Librum Booksellers has teamed up with a husband-and-wife duo on a plan to open a new bookstore in the Daylight Building.

Union Avenue Books will feature both new and used books, and include author readings, book groups and children's events. The new venture pairs Flossie McNabb, a Carpe Librum alum, with Mary and Kaveh Dabir, the married couple behind the Mr. K's used book chain, which has stores in Oak Ridge; Johnson City; Asheville, N.C.; and Greenville, S.C.
