On Saturday, head to Ijams Nature Center for a study of birds, a Nature Pre-School and a winter hike and movie.
The day starts at 9 a.m. with "Winter Birds of Ijams."
Species like the winter wren, hermit thrush and yellow-bellied sapsucker can only be found at the nature center at this time of the year. Join naturalist Stephen Lyn Bales - the program is free for members, $10 for nonmembers.
Next, from 10-11:30 a.m., is "Nature Pre-School: Winter Wonderland," for 4- and 5-year-olds with an adult. Free to members, $15 for nonmembers.
Finally, from 1-4 p.m., it's time for a winter hike and a movie.
Listen for Whos with Horton and other enchanting pleasantries. Hot cocoa and popcorn will be available. Free to members, $5 for nonmembers.
