Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, who currently has an exhibit at the Knoxville Museum of Art, has been released from prison but remains silent, according to GlobalPost.

The artist has been a fierce critic of the Chinese government. He was released on bail and under a gag order, according to the Associated Press.

His exhibit, "Ai Weiwei: Dropping the Urn," will be on exhibit at the KMA until Aug. 7, and then it will go to London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
