“Twilight” actress Mia Maestro is joining the cast of “The Savages,” Oliver Stone’s adaptation of the Don Winslow novel.
The current cast ranges from hot up-and-comers such as Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson and Emile Hirsch to veterans such as John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro and Uma Thurman.
The story focuses on a couple of young Laguna Beach-based marijuana kingpins (Johnson and Hirsch) who are blackmailed into working for a cartel after their best friend and sometime sex partner (Lively) is kidnapped.
Maestro will play Del Toro’s wife, a tough and bitter woman whose soccer mom lifestyle hides a gang past.
Winslow, Shane Salerno and Stone wrote the screenplay.
Maestro will next be seen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”
