Dolly Parton has a date with Jay.
The Sevier County superstar is going all out for her latest CD and tour. She is scheduled for the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno on Friday, July 22. The talk show can be seen at 11:35 p.m. weeknights on WBIR, Channel 10.
She'll be plugging her "Better Day" album, which came out Tuesday, and her new U.S. tour, which kicks off at Thompson-Boling Arena on July 17. Tickets are still available.
Proceeds are earmarked for the Dollywood Foundation, which supports educational programs such as the Imagination Library. The library provides books to preschoolers around the country each month to instill a desire to read.
MonsterandCritics is reporting that for her "Tonight" appearance, Parton will perform "Together You And I," the first single from the "Better Day" CD.
A video of "Together You And I" is set to be shot in Nashville with director Trey Fanjoy shortly, the website says.
Meanwhile, Parton was in Pigeon Forge recently doing some less public business concerning her foundation and theme park. She also popped up around Dollywood for the introduction of its Kids' Fest, which will run the bulk of the summer.
