From 3-6 p.m. Thursday, the market will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration, highlighting produce and products with a Mexican flair.
Several styles of Sherie's Garden Salsa will be available. V.G.'s Bakery will feature jalapeno cornbread, and peppers and pepper jelly will be available from vendors.
Other seasonal favorites- strawberries, broccoli, greens, sprouts and onions - will be offered, along with local meats, dairy products and Cruze Dairy's ice cream.
The celebration also includes a free children's activity, making maracas out of recycled drink bottles, and music by 13-year-old acoustic guitarist Sojourner McClure.
Knox County's New Harvest Park is near Target on Washington Pike and features a splash pad, playground and a quarter-mile walking trail. For more information, contact Knox County Parks and Recreation at 865-215-6600.
