View 'It's a Wonderful Life' at Tennessee Theatre

For many, watching "It's a Wonderful Life" is a holiday tradition.

Now, you can catch the classic Christmas movie on the big screen at the Tennessee Theatre — and also get a discount to go ice-skating on Market Square.

Home Federal Bank invites East Tennesseans to enjoy two free showings of "It's a Wonderful Life" at the historic Tennessee Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 4.

As an added bonus, moviegoers also receive $2 discount coupons for Knoxville's Holidays on Ice skating rink on Market Square; the bank is also one of the sponsors of Holidays on Ice.

"We're pleased to again offer an opportunity for the community to step outside the hustle and bustle of the season and enjoy the grandeur of the Tennessee Theatre," said Home Federal Bank President Dale Keasling. "We're also pleased to offer a discount to the ice rink, adding another opportunity for moviegoers to enjoy downtown Knoxville. We hope that families will make both activities a tradition of the season."

The film will be shown at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. There is no cost, and no ticket is required. Seating is limited to the theater's capacity.

Released in 1947 and starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, "It's a Wonderful Life" is a bittersweet comedy/drama about George Bailey, a compassionate but debt-ridden manager of a bank in typical small-town America, and the angel that helps him realize his importance in the world.
