The Museum of Appalachia once again celebrates the heritage of Appalachia with music, food, crafts and more during its 32nd annual Fall Homecoming.

Fall Homecoming is Oct. 7-9 at the museum located near Norris and off Interstate 75's Exit 122.

The museum includes a pioneer farmstead appeal with its historic log buildings. In addition, display halls show Appalachian artifacts from quilts to farm implements.

Music is a large part of the homecoming festivities; more than 400 musicians perform on five stages during the three-day festival. The music includes bluegrass, folk, traditional, gospel and country.

Musicians include the Carter Family III on Saturday, Oct. 8; and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and the Steep Canyon Rangers on Sunday, Oct. 9.

The Carter Family III features John Carter Cash, who is the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash; his wife Laura Cash and Dale Jett, the son of Janette Carter. Janette Carter was the daughter of music legends A.P. and Sara Carter.

John Carter Cash also will be part of the event's authors table on Sunday, Oct. 9. His new book, "House of Cash," features photographs taken by Johnny Cash and is a portrait of the music legend told through father-son conversations and other family materials.

Homecoming also is a folk festival with crafts and demonstrations of skills used by pioneers of yesteryear. Artists will exhibit work from pottery to brooms to candles. Work such as log sawing and shingle splitting will be demonstrated.

Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. One-day admission is $30 for adults, $15 for children ages 13-18, $10 for children ages 6-12. Two-day tickets are $55, $30 or $20 for the same age groups while three-day tickets are $75, $45 and $30.
