Bristol music festival is a finalist for Bluegrass Event of the Year

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The Rhythm & Roots Reunion is much more than a bluegrass festival, but that didn’t deter the International Bluegrass Music Association from naming it one of the world’s top events.

The Twin City festival, which occurs Sept. 14-16, has been named one of three finalists for the association’s Bluegrass Event of the Year Award. The others are the La Roche Bluegrass Festival in France and ROMP, an event produced by the International Bluegrass Museum in Owensboro, Ky.

Awards will be presented Sept. 27 at a ceremony in Nashville.
