Les Stroud, the star of the Discovery Channel reality program "Survivorman," will make a personal appearance Saturday, Aug. 25 at Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville.
Les Stroud has endured frigid temperatures and sizzling desert heat. Can he survive the tourist traffic of Sevier County?
We're about to find out.
Stroud, the star of the Discovery Channel reality program "Survivorman," will make a personal appearance Saturday at Smoky Mountain Knife Works. He'll conduct a question-and-answer session from 1 to 2 p.m. then sign autographs from 2 to 4 p.m.
After years away from "Survivorman," Stroud returns for the latest season, which begins at 8 p.m. today.
In "Survivorman," Stroud puts himself through the paces in extreme elements and shows viewers how he is able to come out alive each week.
Originally, "Survivorman" followed Stroud as he lived for one week, without supplies, in the wild. For the new season, he's upping the ante by staying out for 10 consecutive days.
Stroud collaborates with Camillus Cutlery for the Les Stroud Signature Series of knives. The collection includes three survival knives and one machete.
Smoky Mountain Knife Works is at 2320 Winfield Dunn Parkway, Sevierville.
