2012 Readers' Choice awards and favorites.
You, our readers, have picked your favorites in 154 categories of food & dining, shopping, services, and places and entertainment throughout East Tennessee.
Balloting was conducted through paper ballots published in the News Sentinel over a three-week period in September. Thousands of our readers spoke by casting more than 70,000 votes in our 2012 News Sentinel Readers’ Choice survey.

The winners in each category are the businesses who received the most votes by our readers. The next highest vote recipients in each category, up to two, were named as Readers’ Choice Favorites and are listed alphabetically. To thank those readers who participated, the News Sentinel conducted a drawing from the names of those who cast 25 or more votes.
The 2012 News Sentinel Readers’ Choice Contest winners are as follows:

- Third place: Julia Hurley, Mandy Whatley, Tommy McGaha, Jonnie Sorenson and Samuel Cooper
