Classic Eggnog


6 large eggs

¾ cup superfine sugar

1½ cups brandy

½ cup rum

4 cups milk

2 cups cream

Nutmeg, to taste


1 Separate the eggs and hand beat the yolks slowly while adding the sugar. Then beat in brandy and rum (can substitute two cups bourbon).

2 Next, beat in milk and cream. Just before serving, whisk egg whites until stiff and fold into the mix. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Serves 12.
