The popular concert series/radio broadcast "Tennessee Shines" is returning to downtown Knoxville in a more modest form. During 2008-2010 the show was presented at the Bijou Theatre and broadcast on WDVX-FM monthly on Wednesdays. The revived "Tennessee Shines" will be presented at the Knoxville Visitor's Center, the same location as the station's daily noon program "The Blue Plate Special."

The new "Tennessee Shines" show will be presented at 7 p.m. weekly, beginning Monday, March 5. The first show will feature Jill Andrews and Sam Quinn of the Everybodyfields, guitar great Steve Kaufman and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Kimbro. The show will be hosted by WDVX program director Tony Lawson.

In a press release from the station the show's executive producer Bob Deck said the program has been "reimagined as a radio show that reflects Knoxville's character and celebrates our musical history and broadcasting heritage." Deck and writer Paige Travis will co-host the programs.

Future guests will include singer-songwriters Megan McCormick, Angel Snow and Robby Hecht.

Tickets for the show are $10 and will be available at the station and online at WDVX.com.
