PASADENA, Calif. -- Fox isn't saying whether "House" or "Terra Nova" will be back next season. But in the case of "House," a fitting finale will be presented if this is its last season, said Fox's entertainment president.

Though speculation indicates "House" and "Terra Nova" may end this season, no official word has been announced yet. Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly told reporters Sunday that "House" would not end quietly. A "fitting" ending would send the series off the air, he says.

On another front, Jonah Hill's cartoon "Allen Gregory" will not be back for a second season. "Bob's Burgers" will be back as will "The Simpsons" and a new version on "The Flintstones."

As for Fox's obvious hits, "The X-Factor" will be back but will have "tweaks" in season two. Nothing firm was pointed out, but it is widely anticipated changes may be made in the host and maybe even at the judging table.

The network also announced Sunday that it's created a new unit to develop animated shorts for online and for late-night Saturday nights. Fox's "animated shorts," which is being compared to Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" block, will begin airing later this month, from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

"Glee" will not have a spin-off, and some of the characters will be graduating and their lives will be followed next season. Reilly would not say what those plot developments will be. Lea Michele, he said, will remaining with the series beyond this season.

Though Kiefer Sutherland is returning this season with a new action-drama called "Touch," he hasn't given up on "24" or Jack Bauer, the man of adventure in that series. Production on a "24" movie begins this spring, with a possible release in 2013.

"The status on the movie, hopefully, (is) we will be shooting the end of April, beginning of May," Sutherland told reporters Sunday.

He said he's not doing "Touch" to get away from "24" or its lead character, which he played for eight seasons. "The real choice to do this was not because I wanted to get away from '24.' The reason why I could not turn this down was because it spoke to me on a really profound level," he said.

Reportedly, the "24" movie would pick up six months after the TV show and be a direct continuation of it.
