Johnny Knoxville is about to get even more cartoonish.
The star of "Jackass" and South Knoxville native has two major animated projects on his slate, according to reports.
For one, he will guest star on an upcoming episode of "SpongeBob SquarePants." He will play Johnny Krill, who is the star of an extreme sports team The Drasticals.
Knoxville, nee PJ Clapp, tries to recruit SpongeBob and Patrick onto the team.
According to the New York Post, Knoxville was quoted as saying, "I got a lot of street cred in the office for doing 'SpongeBob. Everyone is psyched.
"As soon as I was done recording this episode (last month), I started begging them to let me come back and record another one."
Executive producer Paul Tibbitt wrote the episode with Knoxville in mind "because there are few humans living that are as extreme as him."
The episode will air in the summer.
Knoxville also is producing a new Adult Swim program.
The 15-minute "Loiter Squad" will debut in March and include "sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and music."
The cast will feature rappers, artists and skateboarders.
The series will showcase the Odd Future crew, which contains Tyler, the Creator, Left Brain, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, The Internet, The Jet Age of Tomorrow, Mike G and Frank Ocean.
Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze — the minds behind "Jackass" — will co-produce "Loiter Squad" through their company, Dickhouse Productions.
