Terry Morrow: 'Mad Men' gets a date for fifth season

Dates you may want to keep:

"Mad Men" will be back for its fifth season on March 25. The opener will be a two-hour episode. The fifth season will consist of 12 episodes.

Starting April 1, "Mad Men" will return to its regular time slot at 10 p.m. Sundays.

The April 1 episode was written by Erin Levy and Matthew Weiner and directed by Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper.

Knoxville native Christina Hendricks plays Joan, the office administrator.

On Demand will offer the fourth season starting Monday. If you want to set your DVRs, you can see the show from the beginning as AMC continues to air episodes from seasons one through four (in order) at 6 a.m. Sundays.

"Game of Thrones" returns for its second season April 1 on HBO. The season will consist of 10 episodes.

Returning cast members include Emmy winner Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey and Kit Harington.

"Nurse Jackie" and "The Big C" can be seen in new seasons starting April 7. Showtime has not reached a decision yet on whether "Jackie" will be back beyond 2012.

A date for the new season of "True Blood" (which will feature Bearden native Dale Dickey as a werewolf) has not been announced yet.

Zombie drama "The Walking Dead" is crawling into the second half of its second season starting Feb. 12 on AMC.

The remaining episodes will deal with the repercussions of the 2011 season breaker: Once the zombies were released from the barn and action was taken, what will Rick and the other survivors do now?

Then there's that whole thing about the unborn baby: Is it Rick's or Shane's?

Dustin Hoffman stars in the drama "Luck," which officially begins its first season Jan. 29 on HBO. It's a story set against the backdrop of horse racing.

TV Land will carry on with "Happily Divorced," the Fran Drescher sitcom, on March 7. "Retired at 35" will launch its second season on the same night.

A date for the premiere of the new "Dallas" series on TNT has not been announced yet, but it probably will have a June start date.

The acclaimed comedy "Episodes" starring Matt LeBlanc will have a summer debut, though word on an exact day has not been announced from Showtime.

"Shameless," the William H. Macy comedy-drama, is already on the air, Sunday nights on Showtime.

"Spartacus: Vengeance" — the third in the "Spartacus" series — premieres Friday night on Starz.

Liam McIntryre assumes the new role; Andy Whitfield, the original Spartacus, died from cancer in 2011.
