UPDATE: Winfrey divorce response claims Oprah is conspiring with her dad

FRANKLIN – Oprah Winfrey’s stepmother says she is fearful for her safety because of Vernon Winfrey’s temper and that he and TV icon Oprah Winfrey are conspiring to throw her out of the couple’s $1.49 million home north of Franklin, divorce records show.

The allegations are part of the counter claim filed Monday morning in Williamson County Chancery Court by Barbara Winfrey, who is the second wife of Vernon Winfrey

Late last month June, Vernon Winfrey, 79, filed for divorce against Barbara Winfrey, claiming she was “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct” and irreconcilable differences.

The couple were married June 17, 2000 in Nashville. It is Vernon Winfrey’s second marriage and Barbara Winfrey’s third.

Well just who does she expect Oprah to side with? I would suspect the house may be in Oprah's name - or she bought it for her father before the marriage.

How about she "side" with the side of integrity and truth? Why would that be too much to ask?
