Bryan Cranston stars as Walt in "Breaking Bad."
"Breaking Bad" has reached a breaking point (10 p.m. Sunday, AMC).
Having bested drug kingpin Gus Fring in the 2011 season finale, Walt and Jesse (Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul) have their lives free and clear for the first time in a very long while. You'd think they'd walk away from their meth-making enterprise and rest on their laurels.
But, sadly, no.
With 16 episodes left until the series finale (the back eight arriving in 2013), "Bad" isn't going to go down quietly.
It isn't long before Walt and Jesse get in over their heads again.
The walls keep crumbling.
And then there's Walt's wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn), who has cooked the books for her boss and has her own crimes to cover up.
Referring to Jesse this past season as "this very confused, lost kid. He is struggling to keep his head above water," Paul is barely showing the tip of the iceberg.
Can Jesse be redeemed?
In a 2011 interview, Paul was supportive of his wayward counterpart.
"I think he can," he said."I don't think he is at a point of no return."

"How To Fall In Love" (8 p.m. Hallmark Channel). A former ugly duckling (Eric Mabius) hires a former classmate to help him get his love life in order in this family friendly film.
"Leverage" (8 p.m. TNT). Timothy Hutton and his gang of con men are back for a fifth season of trying to bring mend the fences between people in trouble and their oppressors.
"Political Animals" (10 p.m. USA Networks). The turmoils of former first families are the basis for this new drama with Adrian Pasdar, Ellen Burstyn and James Wolk.
TUESDAY
"American Gypsies" (9 p.m. National Geographic Channel). In this new reality series, a prominent New York family of gypsies battle each other while maintaining their values.
WEDNESDAY
"Mama Drama" (10 p.m. VH1). The turbulent relationship between mothers and young daughters are the focus of this reality series.
THURSDAY
"Duets" (8 p.m. ABC). A winner is crowned for season one of this competition that puts ordinary folks with established celebrities.
"Sullivan & Sons" (10 p.m. TBS). Bottoms up: This new sitcom looks at a Manhattan attorney operating the family bar in Pittsburgh.
SATURDAY
"An Officer and a Murderer" (8 p.m. Lifetime). Gary Cole stars as a military man who commits numerous brutal crimes, based on a real story.
