Electro-pop band Passion Pit, which was scheduled to perform on July 17 at the Valarium, has canceled six concerts planned for the remainder of July, including the Knoxville show.
On Passion Pit's official Website Michael Angelakos, lead singer-songwriter of the band, posted the following letter:
"On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancelations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I'd like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light."
Angelakos has suffered from some mental problems in the past. The band's official bio discusses Angelakos checking into a psychiatric facility in 2010.
Tickets purchased by credit card will be refunded directly back to the cards used to purchase them. Patrons who bought tickets at outlets will need to return tickets to the Valarium for refund.
