The Tennessee Valley Fair today announced its entertainment lineup for the 2012 fair, which this year runs Sept. 7-16, and acts of note include rapper MC Hammer, '80s metal act Night Ranger and country up-and-comer Easton Corbin.

Ticket prices for the concerts range from $5-$15, and performances will be in the Homer Hamilton Theater at Chilhowee Park.

The full lineup is as follows:

Friday Sept. 7: MC Hammer (reserved seats: $15)

Saturday, Sept. 8: Fairest of the Fair Pageant (reserved seats: $5)

Sunday, Sept. 9 Local Artist Spotlight, featuring Brad Blackwell, Stephen Hunley and the Southern Drawl Band (free)

Monday, Sept. 10: Kip Moore (reserved seats: $8)

Tuesday, Sept. 11: Josh Thompson (reserved seats: $5)

Wednesday, Sept. 12: Easton Corbin (reserved seats: $10)

Thursday, Sept. 13: David Nail (reserved seats: $8)

Friday Sept. 14: Night Ranger (reserved seats: $10)

Saturday, Sept. 15: Con Hunley (reserved seats: $5)

Sunday, Sept. 16: Sawyer Brown (reserved seats: $15)

The fair is offering an advance purchase admission special: Buy a reserved seat to any headline concert at Homer Hamilton Theatre before August 31 and get a fair admission ticket for only $5.

Advance Tickets to the fair go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6. This includes concert tickets, discounted admission tickets and ride wristbands. Fairgoers can save big by purchasing tickets early and taking advantage of the following specials:

Adult Admission Tickets: $7 – Regularly $9

Child Admission Tickets: $5 – Regularly $6

Also available on June 6 will be Fair Fun Pack ($25) which includes two adult admission tickets, two child admission tickets and a parking pass. Regularly $35; and a Family Fun Pack ($30) which includes fouradult admission tickets and a parking pass. Regularly $41.00

Pay-One-Price Ride Wristband specials include:

($14.00) Opening Day Special / September 7, 2012 Only. Regularly $22.00

($16.00) Monday - Thursday Special. Regularly $20.00

($21.00) Weekend Special. Regularly $25.00

Gets worse every year... so does the fair!!! It's a shame too. I've been going for almost 50 years. Night Ranger is fine. But, where is the Southern Rock this year??

Oh how far we have fallen. If I had made as money as those guys did in the 80's I'da been able to live quite comfortably for the rest of my life. To go from selling out stadiums to playing at the Tennessee Fair? How depressing.

BTW, Night Ranger is NOT "an 80's metal act". Motley Cru, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest...yep.

Night Ranger is about as "metal" as Bon Jovi, Nelson, White Snake, or Van Halen. The correct term would be "80's hair band".

I tell you the truth, Knoxvillians complains about everything and everybody. We had the privilege to see a great old school concert a fews weeks ago. Con fun Shun, Lakeside and Barkays - They were execellent! Hope people will support MC Hammer concert.
