Beginning Tuesday, June 19, and ending Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Athens Farmers’ Market will operate every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-7 p.m. in downtown Athens at Market Park, 106 South Jackson Street. The grand opening ceremony will be held at 5:15 p.m. June 19, featuring a free hot dog cookout. The first 50 visitors will receive free market cash good for that day only. From 3-6 p.m. pressure cooker lids will be tested by a representative of the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension Office.
