Another week, another reality show, another local involved.
Cheryl Burchett of Knoxville will appear as a competitor on the premiere episode of reality competition "Craft Wars," airing 10 p.m. Tuesday on TLC.
According to the cable channel, Burchett will be "putting her crafting knowledge to the test as the contestants are faced with a series of 'Back to School' themed challenges."
Executive produced by Tori Spelling, each episode of "Craft Wars" features three everyday enthusiasts against each other in two rounds of challenges, encompassing different genres of crafting expertise all in the hopes of winning $10,000.
Crafting is a $30 billion industry and the series celebrates a passion that is shared by more than half of all American households, the cable channel says. Crafting has been reinvented by the younger generation, evolving the hobby into a practical form of self-expression seen in everything from fashion to party planning.
